Doha, Qatar: France’s Lara Tryba delivered a masterclass aboard Chageorge to capture the CSI3*-W 150cm Grand Prix on the final day of the H H The Amir’s Sword Showjumping Championship at Al Shaqab.
The concluding feature class attracted 38 combinations, with 13 making it through to the jump-off, where speed and accuracy proved crucial.
Tryba produced a flawless round in 33.28 seconds to claim top honours. Fellow French rider Megane Moissonnier secured second place aboard Qoup de Coeur de Muze in 34.12 seconds, while Germany’s Hans-Dieter Dreher finished third with Harley de La Cense, posting four faults in 40.72 seconds.Khalid Jassim Al Suwaidi and Saad Ahmed Al Saad celebrate a one-two finish for Qatar in the CSI1 130cm Grand Prix.
On Friday, Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alsharbatly had taken centre stage, guiding the 13-year-old mare Diriyah to victory in the CSI5* 160cm Grand Prix, winning the prestigious Amir’s Sword.
The blue-riband event offered €1.5m in prize money and drew 44 combinations for a challenging two-round competition, with 13 advancing to a jump-off.
