Tamil Maanila Congress president G.K. Vasan announces party's boycott of all-party meeting on delimitation issues.
Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) (TMC(M)) president G.K. Vasan on Sunday announced that his party would not participate in the all-party meeting convened by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on March 5 to discuss the issues relating to delimitation.
In a statement, Mr. Vasan said there was no official announcement related to the delimitation exercise yet. “In such a scenario, it is a flaw to say that the number of Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu will be reduced. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had clarified on this subject. The all-party meeting is an attempt to divert attention from several persisting issues in the State,” he added.
His announcement came on the heels of the announcement made by BJP State president K. Annamalai that his party would boycott the all-party meeting.
