The girl's dad accused the actor of sexually abusing her when she was auditioning for a children's theater in California, reports say.
Actor Timothy Busfield has been accused of another child sex abuse allegation just 24 hours after he turned himself in to authorities in New Mexico to face two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse.
On Wednesday in a pretrial motion, authorities say a man told law enforcement that the 68-year-old Busfield had sexually abused the man’s daughter “several years ago” in Sacramento, California, according to People.
The girl, who was 16 at the time of the alleged assault, met Busfield while auditioning for the B Street Theatre, which he founded in the city in 1986.
The 16-year-old said that the actor “kissed her and put his hands down her pants and touched her privates,” according to the motion.
When the family confronted Busfield, he begged them not to report the incident to law enforcement if he got therapy, the motion states, according to Deadline. The father, a therapist, reportedly agreed at the time that that was the best plan of action.
