Doha, Qatar: Thousands of people gathered at the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara to watch the live broadcast of the Grand Egyptian Museum’s opening ceremony on Saturday evening.
The event, held in cooperation with the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Qatar, was attended by HE Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara, and HE Walid El Feki, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Qatar, along with members of the diplomatic corps and a large audience, particularly from the Egyptian community in Qatar.
Katara’s organization of this live broadcast reaffirms its cultural mission to open new avenues of engagement with global human achievements in various fields, and to highlight the shared values that unite nations through culture, art, and knowledge. It also reflects Katara’s commitment to keeping pace with global cultural events and bringing them to the local audience.
In his speech on this occasion, HE Walid El Feki expressed his pleasure at Katara’s participation in this global event, which he described as a moment of pride for Egypt and for humanity as a whole. He noted that the Grand Egyptian Museum serves as a civilizational bridge connecting a glorious past with the present and the future, embodying Egypt’s vision of its historic role as a beacon of culture and knowledge across the ages.
