"Sean Combs: The Reckoning" joins other trending shows this week, including Peacock's "Bel Air" and HBO Max's "Heated Rivalry."
“Sean Combs: The Reckoning” is the No. 1 show on Netflix right now, according to the streamer’s public ranking system.
The damning four-part docuseries — directed by Alexandria Stapleton and executive-produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson — spans decades of the Bad Boy founder’s life, chronicling his rise and fall following numerous sexual misconduct allegations, a high-profile federal trial and a conviction earlier this year.
The docuseries interviews several of Combs’ former associates; childhood friends; Bad Boy artists and employees, including Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day and Bad Boy co-founder Kirk Burrowes; Dirty Money member Kalenna Harper; former assistant Capricorn Clark; Joi Dickerson-Neal, one of Combs’ alleged victims; and jurors from his trial.
Ahead of its explosive premiere, Combs slammed the Netflix doc as a “shameful hit piece” that he claims used “stolen footage” of him days before his 2024 arrest and indictment. Combs’ mother, Janice Combs, also criticized the series, alleging that it includes “lies” and “inaccuracies” about the fallen mogul.
A spokesperson for Netflix responded to Combs’ “false” claims, saying in part, “This is not a hit piece or an act of retribution.” The streamer and Stapleton also said the footage of Combs was “legally obtained.”
