The Jets have a lot of holes. Here’s what they need to address first
NY Post
The Super Bowl is here and that means we are almost to the actual offseason — the one of transactions and trades and roster-building.
Jets general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn have a lot of work to do this offseason to improve a team that went 3-14 in 2025. The whirlwind of free agency and NFL draft season is about to begin. It feels like a good time to take a look at the Jets roster position by position.
I have rated each spot on a need scale of 1-5 with 5 being among the biggest needs on the team and 1 meaning they are set at the position.
Here’s the breakdown:

The deal that brought Aidan Thompson to the Rangers didn’t create the ripple effects that the Artemi Panarin trade did because of who departed the organization. That was only Derrick Pouliot, a 32-year-old defenseman more than two years removed from his last NHL game. It didn’t create the waves like one for, say, Vincent Trocheck, would have because of current NHL players or draft capital the Blueshirts received in return, either.
