Telangana CM to present Musi Rejuvenation Project details on March 13, addressing concerns about displacement and economic development.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would make a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) on Musi Rejuvenation Project on March 13 to allay “apprehensions raised on displacement, rehabilitation and also the government’s vision to develop Musi riverfront as a big economic hub”.
Speaking at Women’s Day celebrations in Hyderabad on Sunday (March 8, 2026), he criticised Opposition parties for opposing the project. “In Ahmedabad, 10,000 families were displaced and Sabarmati Riverfront was built. They did not provide proper facilities for them,” as per a press note.
Citing Yamuna Riverfront in Delhi and Ganga Riverfront in UP [Uttar Pradesh], the Chief Minister asked why the opposition do not want the Musi project. “What is wrong in constructing Gandhi Knowledge Centre with ₹200 crore?” the Chief Minister asked.
He assured that the government will rehabilitate the people who will be displaced. “In 2004, an apartment was built in the buffer zone of 9 meters in the Isa river. After taking a decision to create a 50-meter buffer for the rivers, a ban was imposed on constructions. Residents have been invited for talks to address the removal of structures in view of the 50 per cent buffer zone covered. The government assured to allot seven acres of land and also deposit money required to build an apartment in the land. Unfortunately, the issue was politicised and the leaders showed sympathy,” the press note added.
