
Tata AutoComp, Katcon Global set up JV in Mexico to produce components

Tata AutoComp Systems and Katcon Global form joint venture in Mexico to manufacture advanced composites for automotive industry.
Auto component manufacturer Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd. and Katcon Global, which is into exhaust systems, thermal insulation and advanced materials components, have announced a new joint venture in Mexico to manufacture advanced composites, with a focus on serving the North American market.
The JV will specialise in lightweight applications for passenger and commercial vehicles, agricultural tractors, off-road vehicles, and specialized non-automotive segments.
Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman, Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd., said: “This joint venture marks a significant milestone for us, as it is the first time we are entering a partnership where we are contributing the core technology—what we see as a reverse model compared to our previous alliances.”
Carlos Turner, CEO of Katcon said, “By combining Katcon’s advanced composite technologies with Tata AutoComp’s deep industry expertise, we are well positioned to deliver innovative, lightweight solutions that address the evolving needs of the North American automotive market.”
