It appears the unsettling trend of people throwing objects at celebrities and performers was resurrected this week with an incident involving SZA.
On Wednesday, the singer, who is on the Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar, was greeting fans and signing autographs outside State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
In a now-viral TikTok clip, the “Snooze” singer is seen interacting with fans before things take a turn for the worse, and someone suddenly throws a bracelet at her, striking her on the side of her face.
Visibly shocked, SZA, born Solána Imani Rowe, recoils and then immediately storms off without saying a word. Her security team follows behind her.
TikTok users fumed over the “sad “ and “evil” incident, with some people warning that “this is part of the reason why artists don’t do meet and greets.”
