Doha, Qatar: The Director of the Land Customs Department at the General Authority of Customs, Yousef Al Hammadi said that land customs provide all facilities to suppliers and traders, noting that all customs initiatives, including the economic operator and the TIR System, aim to facilitate the movement of trade in the country.
This came during his address to the Qatar Chamber's Services Committee's virtual meeting held on Wednesday, chaired by Qatar Chamber Board Member and Services Committee Chairman Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al Misnad.
The webinar was attended by representatives from several entities, including the Ministry of Transport, the General Authority of Customs, Mwani Qatar, Qatar Airways, in addition to more than 30 companies operating in the transportation and logistics sector in the country.
During the event, participants reviewed the key challenges facing the services sector under the current circumstances, particularly those related to transportation and freight, and discussed ways to address them.
The meeting reviewed the status of land, air, and sea cargo and supply chains, and discussed private sector proposals to address recent challenges facing transportation, logistics, and shipping companies.
