CBC
Sudbury police are searching for a man accused of murder following a call about intimate partner violence.
Shortly after 12:35 a.m. Wednesday morning, police were called to a home on Lorne Street. Officers were told that two family members had serious injuries after a violent altercation with the person's partner.
Police arrived on scene and found a 32-year-old woman outside of the home who had serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital by paramedics. Inside the home, police found a 63-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers also found two children inside the residence who were not physically injured.
No one else was inside. Police believe the person responsible for the attack left before officers arrived. He's described as a 36-year-old Black man who is 5'7" tall with short black hair and a beard. Police said he was last seen wearing light-coloured shorts and a dark-coloured shirt.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
