CBC
Steven Taqtu will represent residents in the Nunavut electorate of Quttiktuq.
His victory was confirmed after a judicial recount on Friday – the third recount in Nunavut due to close results on election day.
Taqtu, who received 121 of 253 total votes in the riding, narrowly defeated Philip Kalluk by 14 votes.
This will be Taqtu's first time serving in the Nunavut Legislative Assembly.
Close races in Pangnirtung and Aggu also led to judicial recounts.
Pangnirtung will be represented in the seventh Legislative Assembly by Johnny Mike, who returns to office after representing the community in the fourth assembly from 2013-2017.
Voters in Aggu will heading back to the polls after the recount found a tie between the two candidates.
CBC News has reached out to Kiran Situt, the Chief Electoral Officer of Elections Nunavut, asking when the new election for Aggu will be held.
