The "Late Show" host agreed with the president on one thing.
“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Tuesday reacted after President Donald Trump was asked about the worst-case scenario in Iran after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a U.S./Israeli attack on the nation that is still under way.
“And his answer was not the best,” Colbert said.
Trump said the worst case would involve someone taking over in Iran who’s just as bad as Khamenei.
“That could happen,” Trump said. “That would probably be the worst. You go through this and then in five years you realize you put somebody in who was no better.”
Colbert agreed.
The “Late Night” host revealed what’s “especially weird” about the president’s rationale for a “war no one asked for.”
