St. Ignatius High School in Thunder Bay will be closed until further notice while police and officials investigate a threat Tuesday evening.
All after-school activities and community use of the school have been cancelled and the school will remain closed until further notice, the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board said in a media release issued at 4:20 p.m. ET.
The release did not say whether this closure would last until the start of classes Wednesday morning, and the board did not disclose the nature of the threat.
This is the second day in a row that a Catholic high school in Thunder Bay has been closed due to a threat.
St. Patrick High School was closed Tuesday while police and school officials investigated a threat made Monday. On Tuesday, officials said they'd done a walk-through and could find no evidence of any potential harm to students.
Earlier this month, French Catholic schools across northwestern, northern and eastern Ontario were closed for a day due to bomb threats and extortion demands made against them. After investigating, Ontario Provincial Police said that incident was a hoax.
