'Shut The F Up Forever': Charlamagne Tha God Shreds Van Jones Over 'Divisive' Mamdani Talk

The radio host knocked the CNN commentator for claiming that Mamdani "missed an opportunity" in his election victory speech.
Charlamagne Tha God on Wednesday took on CNN political commentator Van Jones for arguing that New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani “missed an opportunity” in what he described as a “sharp”-toned victory speech.
Jones — moments after Mamdani wrapped up his speech — claimed that the democratic socialist wasn’t as “calm” and “embracing” as he was on the campaign trail, adding that he missed his chance to bring more people into his “tent” and displayed a “little bit of a character switch.”
The radio host — who took part in CNN’s election night coverage but did not appear on a panel with Jones — gave the network’s political commentator the “Donkey of the Day” title on Power 105.1 FM’s “Breakfast Club” before questioning what he found “divisive” about the democratic socialist’s speech.
“Van, shut the F up forever, OK? There was no opportunity missed, the man just won, all right? Like he just won. After you won, yes, you’re gonna celebrate. Yes, you’re going to talk loud. What do you mean he wasn’t warm enough?” he said.
Charlamagne — earlier in the segment — tossed to a clip of Mamdani remarking on his hopes to work with police officers to reduce crime and tackle homelessness.
