Another U.S. service member has died in the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, the Pentagon announced on March 8.
A seventh American service member died in the ongoing war with Iran, the U.S. military said on Sunday, March 8, more than a week after the conflict began.
The U.S. service member died from injuries received during Iran's initial counter-attack a week ago, according to a statement from U.S. Central Command. The Pentagon said the individual was "seriously wounded" in an attack on U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia on March 1.
The service member's identity will be withheld from the public until 24 hours after their family is notified, the Pentagon said.
The six other American troops were killed in an Iranian drone attack in Kuwait. President Donald Trump and several top administration officials attended a dignified transfer of the six service members on Saturday, March 7, at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
The six soldiers were Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35, of Winter Haven, Florida; Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, Nebraska; Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20, of West Des Moines, Iowa. The U.S military said that Maj. Jeffrey O’Brien, 45, of Waukee, Iowa, and Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert Marzan, 54, of Sacramento, California, were also killed in the attack.
