Sensex sheds over 100 points in early trade

Equity benchmark Sensex dropped over 100 points in early trade on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, tracking losses in index heavyweights Infosys, ICICI Bank and TCS amid a negative trend in global markets.
After slumping to 59,127.04 in the opening session, the 30-share Sensex was trading 102.49 points or 0.17 per cent lower at 59,196.83. Similarly, the Nifty fell 28.60 points or 0.16 per cent to 17,662.65.

Insurance penetration and density are often misunderstood and do not reveal how many families are insured or whether they would be financially secure if the main earning member were to die. The real issue is not reach but adequacy, as households may have life insurance but not enough cover to replace lost income, leaving them financially vulnerable.
