Benchmark market indices ended lower on Friday due to weakness in banking and technology stocks. Concerns over global economic growth and inflation have also hurt investor sentiments.
Indian shares closed lower for a fourth straight session on Friday, weighed by weakness in private banks and technology stocks and concerns about the global economy and inflation, pushing the indexes to record their first weekly slide in six.
The blue-chip NSE Nifty 50 index ended 0.49% lower at 17,532.05, and the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was down 0.61% at 58,765.58.
