‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ castmates speak out amid Taylor Frankie Paul fallout

‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ castmates speak out amid Taylor Frankie Paul fallout

“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" stars Miranda McWhorter and Layla Taylor spoke out against domestic violence on Friday after TMZ released a 2023 video of Taylor Frankie Paul attacking her ex-boyfriend.

Two stars of Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” have spoken out against domestic violence Friday, a day after a new video was released showing their castmate, Taylor Frankie Paul, attacking her ex-boyfriend in front of her daughter three years ago.

“Domestic violence and abuse of any kind is something I take very seriously,” Miranda McWhorter said in a Friday post on her Instagram story. “As a human, and especially a mother, I cannot support that kind of behavior. My heart is with the children in this and I hope they’re safe, supported, and surrounded by love.”

McWhorter also noted that she has been “a little at a loss for words trying to process this all” and that “everything has been really heavy to see.” While she does not mention Paul by name, her statement comes after a week of reports of a domestic violence incident involving Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.

On Thursday, TMZ released a video that appears to be recorded by Mortensen and shows Paul pushing and kicking Mortensen as he repeatedly asks her to stop during an incident for which she was arrested in 2023.

In the video of the incident, which does not capture what led up to the moment the video began, Paul is also seen throwing three barstools at Mortensen. Shortly after the stool is thrown, her daughter, who was nearby on the sofa during the fight, can be heard crying. NBC News has not independently verified the TMZ video or viewed the original full video.
