Doha, Qatar: The Katara Cultural Village Foundation concluded its second Gulf-European Cultural Forum yesterday in Hall 15.
The forum, held under the theme “Katara and the Bridge of Andalusian Heritage: Strengthening Cultural Communication between the Arab Gulf States and Spain,” brought together a distinguished group of academics, intellectuals, and poets from the Arab Gulf States and Spain. This cultural event reaffirmed Katara’s position as a leading platform for civilizational dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The presence of Andalusian heritage as a bridge for intercultural dialogue and knowledge exchange was emphasised. The second and final day of the forum witnessed a remarkable intellectual and literary presence, with a diverse programme of events including the second intellectual seminar, a poetry evening, and a book signing ceremony.
The second intellectual seminar featured several research papers that explored the Andalusian heritage from various intellectual perspectives. Dr. Anwar Al-Saad presented a paper titled “The Andalusian Heritage and its Impact on Shaping Shared Cultural Identity,” which addressed the civilizational dimension of Andalusia as a space for human interaction and its role in establishing the values of pluralism and cultural tolerance.
Dr. Mashael Al-Akli presented a paper titled “Cultural Communication between Andalusia and the Gulf: A Reading of Cultural Extensions,” in which she highlighted the paths of mutual influence between Arab culture in Andalusia and its Gulf counterpart, and the importance of reviving this heritage in building a contemporary cultural dialogue.
