• Defense team’s closing arguments: Attorney Marc Agnifilo began his defense of Sean “Diddy” Combs today arguing that the prosecution exaggerated its case and that the evidence only showed a “swingers” lifestyle. He also said, “This isn’t about a crime, this is about money,” referencing civil lawsuits against the mogul. • Prosecution’s case: Yesterday, jurors heard from the prosecution, which described Combs as the “leader of a criminal enterprise” who could get away with his alleged crimes for years because of his money and fame. • What happens next: Following the defense’s closing argument, prosecutors will be allowed to give a rebuttal. After that, the case heads to the jury. • Federal charges: Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges that include racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. If convicted on all counts, he could face up to life in prison. Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo said the sex life of Sean “Diddy” Combs and Cassie Ventura was “just not sex trafficking.” “It’s his girlfriend. I suppose you could sex traffic your girlfriend if you sell her into prostitution,” Agnifilo said, adding there was no suggestion Combs was making any money off “Freak Offs.” (Ventura, who dated Combs from around 2007 to 2018, described “Freak Offs” as sexual encounters between her and a male “entertainer,” typically in a hotel room, with Combs present.)
