A number of beaches in Qatar, including Umm Bab, have been attracting many residents who want to enjoy the sea breeze and weekends just before summer sets in. Unlike other popular beaches across the country, Umm Bab, located in Al Sheehaniya municipality, is secluded but many visitors find it unique due to its calm waters, in addition to the bunch of palm trees that serve both as attraction and shelter. The current Covid-19 situation makes this destination, about 80kms from Doha, an excellent and safe place to relax and bond with the family. It is learnt that the past few days witnessed some families, groups of friends, and individuals camp overnight at Umm Bab, hoping to see a picturesque view of the sunset.
