Rural schools are closed Friday in Thunder Bay, Ont., and all school bus routes are cancelled in the city as a snow storm makes it way through the region.
Environment Canada has issued multiple weather alerts for the northwest, including snowfall warnings for Thunder Bay, Kenora, Dryden and Fort Frances areas. Snowfall is expected to continue through to this evening.
The weather agency said total snowfall accumulations of 15 to 25 centimetres is expected. There's also a risk of freezing rain near the Minnesota border.

A Calgary woman accused of sending five emails that threatened former Alberta justice minister Jonathan Denis, his mother and several of his friends has seen those charges dropped after evidence was revealed in court that one of the emails was sent through an email-spoofing website based in the Czech Republic and police determined the other four were “not authentic.”
