Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday shared future plans related to a leadership transition at the energy-to-telecom conglomerate. The statement is significant as Mukesh Ambani hinted at an "accelerated leadership transition" in RIL.

Mukesh Ambani, 64, said he wants the transition process at Reliance to be accelerated by seniors, including him, to make way for the younger generation. This is the first time Asia’s richest man and chairman of one of India’s biggest conglomerates has spoken openly about succession plans.
