Represented by the Joint Rainfall Emergency Committee, the Ministry of Municipality affirmed its prior readiness to deal with rainfall, by making all preparations and providing the work teams, equipment and mechanisms necessary to withdraw bodies of water from various regions of the country on a timely basis and around the clock. Based on continuous coordination with the Meteorology Department and following up on its daily bulletins, an official source in the committee explained that after the rainfall has been predicted Thursday (today), work teams, vehicles and necessary equipment were distributed in various areas of all municipalities, adding that bodies of water were immediately dealt with, especially in some areas of the municipalities of Al Wakra and Al Rayyan. Work in regard to withdrawing bodies of water continues on around the clock. The main operations rooms at the ministry's unified call center receives the public's reports related to rainwater and transfers them directly to the designated emergency rooms in the municipalities to deal with them immediately, while coordination is also being made with the security authorities regarding the regulation of traffic to facilitate the process of withdrawing bodies of water, in addition to coordination with the parks departments in the municipalities regarding the removal of any trees that have fallen due to wind and rain, and coordination with the General Cleanliness Department to clean all roads after withdrawing water bodies from them. In its last few meetings, the Ministry of Municipality's Joint Rainfall Emergency Committee had discussed the necessary preparations, equipment and mechanisms for dealing with bodies of rainwater in accordance with the necessary plans to ensure that those withdrawal operations are conducted as quickly as possible during and after the rainfall. The committee also addressed the mechanism for receiving reports in the operations room, by receiving phone calls through the unified call center at the Ministry of Municipality (184) around the clock, in addition to the number (188) of the Public Works Authority. All the relevant authorities in the country represented by the directors of services departments in the municipalities, as well as each of the General Cleanliness Departments, are participating in the committee, in addition to mechanical equipment, customer service, the unified call center, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), the Ministry of Interior, Lekhwiya Force, the Qatar Armed Forces and QatarEnergy.
