Qatar University (QU) announced the details of the strict precautionary measures that it will be applied to prevent the spread of Covid-19 during the graduation ceremonies for the class of 2020, which will be held in the Sports and Events Complex at the university campus, at the end of May and during the first week of June. The university explained that the graduation ceremonies of the class of 2020 will have a number of precautionary measures (before and during each ceremony) that are different than QU's previous celebratory traditions to prevent the spread of Covid-19. In implementation of the states policy in this regard, Qatar University, represented by the Department of Facilities and General Services Department- Health and Safety section in cooperation with the relevant departments as well as the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), will implement a number of precautions in the graduation ceremonies. The precautionary measures will include carrying out a rapid antigen test (RAT) for all the attendants (one day prior to each ceremony) in several buildings that are designated for the test, noted QU, adding that the measures also include safe distancing, and foods and drinks will not be served. Qatar University called on its graduates for the class of 2020 to strictly adhere to all the measures and precautions, as they are bound to ensure their safety.
