QU announces launch of Arab Cybersecurity Association
Qatar University (QU) has announced the launch of the Arab Cybersecurity Association, which aims to enhance joint Arab action in the field of supporting cybersecurity systems, discuss future challenges in this field and find solutions, in addition to discussing cooperation mechanisms to establish joint research and programs. It also aims to strengthen cooperation with the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, to develop joint cooperation and benefit from the common capabilities of all parties in the fields of research, education and training, and to provide possible assistance within the limits of the specific competencies of each party, to achieve these goals in such a way as to fulfil their respective roles. In a virtual meeting, which included the parties concerned with the association, President of Qatar University Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al Derham stressed the importance of the association, and said that the university is proud of hosting it. He said that QU was known for its efforts in the field of scientific research, its results were reflected in the progress of Qatar University in the list of the best international universities, as it ranked 245 this year, according to the QS World University Rankings, while it advanced ninety places within one year, achieving 318th place according to the Times Higher Education classification. He pointed out that these scientific experiences in various fields made Qatar University distinguished in the field of scientific research globally, as this was translated into competitive research grants won by members of the university locally and globally, as well as scientific papers published in prestigious journals in addition to patents.More Related News
