International Youth Day 2021

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), led by a health education team at its Training and Development Centre, organised a series of workshops yesterday to mark International Youth Day 2021. The event is celebrated every August 12 annually under the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 120/54 issued in 1999. Dr Ahmed Edlibi, head of Health Education at the Medical Affairs Division, delivered two informative and training workshops for the staff and supervisors of the Orphan Care Centre (Dreama). The first workshop saw the technical and administrative staff receiving first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training to build their emergency response capacity while the second workshop covered how to prevent communicable diseases, mainly Covid-19. Titled ‘Youth and Saving Lives,’ a third online workshop was held for members of the Al-Wakra Youth Centre, who learned how to deal with emergencies.
