Doha: The schools and entities under Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education celebrated Qatar Sustainability Week — led by Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future, a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
The celebration featured interactive activities in schools — such as recycling workshops, sustainability experiments, and creative exhibitions — that blended learning with responsible environmental practices, reaffirmed QF’s commitment to sustainability, and inspired students to become leaders of positive change and ambassadors for a sustainable future.
Assistant Principal of the Primary School at Qatar Academy Al Wakra (QAW), Fatima Ibrahim said: “During the week, our entire school community came together to celebrate Sustainability Week, reflecting our shared commitment to reducing paper use and living more consciously toward the environment.
“Through interactive workshops, class-led environmental projects, and student initiatives focused on recycling and exploring alternative materials, our goal was to spark curiosity and inspire action toward a more sustainable future.
“Engaging students in sustainability-focused activities played a vital role in helping them understand the real-world impact of their daily choices. These experiences nurtured environmental awareness, strengthened a sense of responsible citizenship, and empowered students to become active contributors to building a sustainable future.”
