Doha, Qatar: The global oncology platform OncoDaily has announced the selection of Dr. Khalid bin Jabr Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), among the Top 100 Most Influential Figures in Oncology for 2025.
This recognition comes in appreciation of his outstanding contributions to advancing cancer care, supporting public health policies, strengthening healthcare systems, and promoting cancer awareness, patient advocacy, medical education, and scientific research.
This prestigious international recognition reflects the advanced position of the State of Qatar in cancer control efforts. It highlights the growing global influence of Qatari healthcare leadership in shaping oncology-related policies and enhancing cancer services in line with international best practices. It also underscores the vital role of the Qatar Cancer Society as a leading national institution in patient support, community awareness, and the development of effective local and international partnerships.
Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Khalid bin Jabr Al Thani expressed his pride in the recognition, emphasising that it represents a collective national accomplishment rather than an individual one. He stated that this international acknowledgment reflects the confidence of the global medical community in Qatar’s integrated healthcare approach, which prioritises prevention, early detection, and advanced treatment while placing patients at the centre of care. He added that the recognition serves as a greater responsibility to further develop programs and services, expand partnerships, and ensure comprehensive and sustainable support for cancer patients, survivors, and their families.
Founded in 1997, Qatar Cancer Society operates as a charitable organization under the supervision of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities and represents a key pillar in Qatar’s national cancer control ecosystem. The Society works to build a cancer-aware community and improve the quality of life of those affected by the disease through awareness programs, financial assistance, psychosocial support, and initiatives that support professional development and scientific research in oncology.
