Qatari women expected to have a remarkable presence in the Shura Council: CEO QSE

Qatari women are expected to have a "remarkable" presence in the Shura Council, Qatar Stock Exchange chief executive Rashid al-Mansoori has said. Qatar's historic Shura Council election  is on Saturday (October 2).The prominent personality in the country's financial landscape tweeted: "We hope that Qatari women will have a remarkable presence, whether by voting or winning as elected members."This is especially considering that Qatari women have "remarkable" achievements in the fields of business, administration, health, education and community services, according to him.He said Qataris have attained high levels of education and culture, which would be reflected in the voters' awareness of choosing the right candidate without prejudice."Popular participation is a mechanism to achieve our development strategy and national vision 2030," the QSE official said.The candidates have reiterated that voting is the national duty of every qualified Qatari as this is a historic moment for the country that would help in further enhancing its position locally and internationally. نتمنى أن يكون للمرأة القطرية حضورا لافتا سواء بالإقبال على التصويت أو بالفوز كأعضاء منتخبين خصوصا وأن المرأة القطرية حققت وانجازات لافتة في ميادين الأعمال والإدارة والصحة والتعليم والخدمات المجتمعية. #انتخابات_مجلس_الشوري_القطري

Qatar’s Shura Council was established in 1972, following the passing of the Amended Provisional Basic Law of Rule in Qatar on April 19, 1972, to assist His Highness the Amir and the Council of Ministers in the performance of their duties.
