Qatar welcomes Ethiopian Government, Tigray People's Liberation Front agreement on cessation of hostilities

The State of Qatar welcomed the agreement between the government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Tigray People's Liberation Front, considering it a living example of the efficacy of peace solutions in settling disputes and a significant step toward achieving sustainable peace in Ethiopia. In a statement Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar's hope that the two parties would abide by implementing the terms of the agreement and their constructive cooperation in facilitating humanitarian access and protecting civilians. The Ministry expressed the State of Qatar's full appreciation for the efforts of the African Union in sponsoring the negotiations and for the role of the Republic of South Africa in hosting them.
