The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Dr. Deepak Mittal, the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Qatar, and handed him an official memorandum, expressing the disappointment of the State of Qatar and its total rejection and condemnation of the statements made by an official in the ruling party in India against the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Muslims. HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, handed over the memorandum to the Ambassador of the Republic of India. While the State of Qatar welcomes the statement issued by the ruling party in India in which it announced the suspension of the party’s official due to his statements that angered Muslims around the world, it had confirmed in the protest note its expectation of a public apology and immediate condemnation of these statements by the Government of India, pointing out that to allow such anti-Islam statements to continue with impunity poses a grave danger to the protection of human rights and may lead to further prejudice and marginalization, which will lead to a cycle of violence and hatred.

The memorandum indicated that more than two billion Muslims worldwide follow the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his biography, which came as a message of peace, understanding and tolerance, and consider it the light that Muslims all over the world emulate. The State of Qatar stressed that these insulting statements that incite religious hatred are an insult to Muslims around the world, and indicate the clear ignorance of the pivotal role Islam has played in the development of civilizations around the world, including in India. The State of Qatar has renewed its full support for the values of tolerance, coexistence and respect for all religions and nationalities, as these values characterize Qatar's global friendships and its tireless work to contribute to the consolidation of international peace and security.
