Qatar has ranked as the safest country in the world and Doha as the second safest city globally, according to Numbeo, a database of user-contributed data about countries and cities worldwide.

A total of 459 cities were covered by the Numbeo Safety Index by City 2022, with Doha ranking second among them with a score of 86.17. On the other hand, Doha ranked 458 out of 459 cities in the Crime Index by City 2022 with a score of 13.83. The Crime Index is essentially a list of the same cities in reverse order, with the lowest-ranked cities considered the safest.
The other cities in the Safety Index top 10 are Abu Dhabi (UAE), San Sebastian (Spain), Sharjah (UAE), Taipei (Taiwan), Quebec City (Canada), Funchal (Portugal), Dubai (UAE), Zurich (Switzerland) and Munich (Germany).
Doha was the second safest city in the 2021 ranking also.
