Qatar's embassy in Mexico organises embassies' football tournament

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United Mexican States announced the launch of Embassies' Football Cup Tournament, sponsored and organized by the Embassy in the stadiums of Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City in the capital, Mexico City. This came during a press conference attended by Director of the Sports Diplomacy Department of the Mexican Government's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Erik Del Angel in addition to diplomatic representatives from the embassies participating in the tournament: Belgium, Romania, Russia, El Salvador, Chile, Ukraine, European Union, Canada , the United Kingdom, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Peru and Kazakhstan, as well as a team from the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Embassies tournament, organised by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Mexico, embodies sports diplomacy and represents an opportunity for cultural exchange between Qatar and Mexico, and the participating countries in the tournament. In this regard, HE the Ambassador of Qatar to Mexico Mohammed bin Jassim Al Kuwari expressed his happiness to attend this conference which symbolises the friendship between the various embassies and the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ahead of the wonderful start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. HE Al Kuwari also said that Qatar is seeking through sport to achieve clear goals of peace and development, in particular sustainable development. For his part, Erik Del Angel thanked the Qatari embassy for the initiative to organise this remarkable event, stressing his country's desire to achieve greater communication with different embassies and cultures through sports activities.
