Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Press Centre (QPC) hosted a delegation of Gulf and Arab journalists visiting Doha under the patronage of the Arab Federation for Sports Tourism, as part of their participation in the forum titled “The Cultural Dimension of Sports Tourism and Media.”
The visiting delegation included a select group of journalists and media professionals specialising in sports and tourism media. The visit reflects growing interest in strengthening Gulf integration in media coverage related to major sporting and tourism events, as well as in developing professional media discourse in line with the rapid transformations taking place in the tourism and sports industries across the region.
The meeting was marked by a spirit of cordiality and mutual respect and underscored the Centre’s standing as a unifying platform for dialogue, cooperation, and joint media initiatives.
The dialogue session, held at the Abdullah bin Hussein Al-Naama Hall at the Centre’s headquarters, provided a professional space for exchanging views on the role of media in supporting sports tourism, highlighting successful Gulf experiences, and exploring prospects for cooperation between Gulf and Arab associations and press institutions.
Discussions focused on enhancing the quality of specialised media content, raising public awareness, and reinforcing a positive image of the region, particularly as Gulf and Arab countries continue to host major regional and international events.
