Washington: The State of Qatar announced the allocation of one billion US dollars in support of the Peace Council’s efforts and its endeavor to reach a final settlement that fulfills the aspirations of the Palestinian people in establishing their internationally recognized independent state, while ensuring Israel’s security, stability, and natural integration within its regional environment.
A statement by MoFA said that this came during the participation of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, in the first meeting of the Council held today in Washington under the chairmanship of President Donald Trump, President of the United States of America.
In his remarks during the meeting, His Excellency reiterated the State of Qatar’s appreciation for the efforts undertaken to advance peace, noting that under this vision, Qatar reaffirms its full and steadfast commitment to the Peace Council, a commitment that began from the first day of mediation efforts and has continued steadily up to the historic moment that witnessed the signing of the agreement in Sharm El-Sheikh with partners, and will remain in place until its objectives are fully achieved.
