Doha: Qatar Museums has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Oman Across Ages Museum to strengthen cooperation in the fields of museology and the preservation of national heritage. The agreement was signed by CEO of Qatar Museums Mohammed Saad Al Rumaihi and Director General of the Oman Across Ages Museum Al Yaqdhan bin Abdullah Al Harthi at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA).
The MoU outlines multiple areas of collaboration, including the exchange of scientific and practical expertise to achieve the highest standards of excellence and quality, as well as the sharing of ideas and initiatives related to cultural projects and events.
It also covers the organisation of joint training programmes across various fields such as events and marketing, exhibitions, visitor services and reception, conservation, volunteer work, education, research, and translation.
Additionally, the agreement includes provisions for hosting and organising joint events, exhibitions, conferences, and seminars; exchanging information and expertise on policies and best practices; and arranging reciprocal visits for specialists and experts.
The two parties will also exchange research and studies related to the use of modern technologies and the development of educational media, as well as share exhibits between the two institutions.
