Qatar condemns military coup in Guinea

DOHA: The State of Qatar has condemned the military coup in the Republic of Guinea and the arrest of the President, and called on all parties to avoid escalation, let the voice of wisdom prevail and pursue dialogue in order to overcome the crisis in the country.

In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar’s hope to preserve constitutional institutions and the rule of law in order to fulfil the aspirations of the Guinean people for development and prosperity. The statement affirmed the State of Qatar’s full keenness on establishing security and stability in the Republic of Guinea.
