Doha, Qatar: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi stated the following:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet renewed its condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian attacks on the State of Qatar and on the fraternal countries, demanding their immediate cessation, in compliance with the provisions of international law and in respect for the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of good neighborliness. The Cabinet affirmed that the State of Qatar retains its full right to respond, and will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.
The Cabinet stressed that the State of Qatar continues its tireless efforts, in coordination with its regional and international partners, to support finding diplomatic solutions to end the escalation, in a way that ensures respect for the sovereignty of states, preserves the security and stability of the region, and spares its peoples further risks and repercussions.
On the other hand, the Cabinet voiced its sincere condolences to the families of the seven martyrs from Qatar's Armed Forces, the joint Qatari-Turkish forces, and the Turkish civilian collaborators, who were martyred while performing their national duty as a result of the crash of Qatar's Armed Forces helicopter in the territorial waters of the State of Qatar, wishing them mercy and their families and relatives patience and solace.
