Waterloo Region Public Health has declared COVID-19 outbreaks in 19 schools in the region. A spokesperson for the Waterloo District School Board said nine outbreaks they reported Monday were from cases before the holidays.
WRDSB updated its website Monday, saying those nine cases were related to specific cohorts and are not school-wide outbreaks.
A spokesperson for the board told CBC News "the outbreaks that we reported Monday were from cases before the holidays, when schools were open."
