While the Mets can’t discount an outside possibility that they may not find a workable deal for Jeff McNeil, the Mariners and Pirates are among potential landing spots.
The Mets are putting the best face on the current situation by stressing McNeil’s versatility, but it would behoove all parties to move him to a team where he wouldn’t project as an unhappy backup.
