Petrol, diesel prices today: No changes in fuel rates on January 25| Check latest rates

On January 25, 2022, while petrol is retailing at Rs 95.41 per litre in Delhi, diesel is trading at Rs 86.67 per litre. There has been no revision in the fuel rates. Check the latest city-wise rates here.
The petrol and diesel prices remained static across the metro cities on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. The government cut the duty on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and that on diesel by Rs 10 a litre, resulting in an equivalent reduction in retail pump rates.
In Delhi, petrol is retailing at Rs 95.41, while diesel rates stand at Rs 86.67 per litre. In the financial capital, Mumbai, petrol is trading at Rs 109.98 per litre, while diesel is being sold at Rs 94.14 per litre.
On November 4, 2021, the central government cut excise duty to give relief from prices that had touched an all-time high.
Among the metro cities, fuel rates are still the highest in Mumbai. In Kolkata, fuel rates remained at Rs 104.67 (Petrol) and Rs 89.79 (Diesel) per litre respectively. Meanwhile, Chennai retailed a litre of petrol at Rs 101.40 and diesel at Rs 91.43 per litre.
In India, petrol and diesel prices depend on various factors like demand for fuel, valuation of INR against USD, consumption ratio of refineries and more. In addition to this, fuel rates differ from state to state due to value-added tax (VAT) and freight charges.
