Period for exchange of old currency (4th edition) open until further notice: QCB

The Qatar Central Bank has said that the period for the exchange of the old currency (4th edition) is open until further notice. The QCB, through its official twitter handle, said that the source of funds for any amount exceeding QR50,000 should be disclosed according to the requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Committee. This should be also done while the exchange is made by banks for those who have accounts with them.The Qatar Central Bank added that people who do not have accounts in banks must complete the exchange process with the banks, and if they are unable to do so, they should go to the QCB. As for visitors from outside the country, they can: 1- Exchange through banks. 2- Exchange through Qatar Central Bank. 3- It’s necessary to attach the disclosure document of the General Authority of Customs in Qatar issued by the port of entry in both cases. pic.twitter.com/ElcxeXKc4v
