Indian olympic medalist P.V. Sindhu joined hands with Himalaya Wellness Company to promote its ‘Muskaan’ initiative, a programme dedicated to providing free cleft lip surgeries and comprehensive care for children across India. At an event held in Hyderabad on Sunday, Ms. Sindhu highlighted the role confidence plays in shaping a child’s future.

“Confidence gives children the courage to chase their dreams and face the world without hesitation. Every child deserves that strength, and access to cleft care is vital in ensuring they grow up without limitations,” she said.

Since its inception in 2016, Muskaan has facilitated over 2,000 free cleft surgeries in more than 600 districts across India. The initiative seeks to address not just the physical aspects of cleft conditions but also the broader health challenges children face, such as difficulties in nutrition and speech development, said a release.
