
P.E.I. gas, heating oil, diesel prices all take big drop

Fuel prices took a dive on P.E.I. Friday morning.
It was part of the regular weekly price review from the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission.
Prices were down for gas, heating oil and diesel.
It is not unusual for the price of gas to fall this time of year.
The summer driving season is coming to an end, and with it the price of gasoline.
P.E.I. also saw big drops in the price of gas in the last week of August in 2022 (down 6.9 cents) and 2023 (down 3.6 cents).
The next scheduled price review from IRAC is Aug. 30.

Environmental group Greenpeace is calling for more transparency on the part of Canada's largest pulp and paper company, saying it has received millions of dollars in government funding without providing the public with details of how that money is being used or sharing its plans for the future of Canada's forests.
