Ontario man tricked into buying truck with odometer rolled back 136,000 kilometres
CTV
An Ontario man who purchased a truck was shocked when he discovered the odometer had been rolled back by more than 135,000 kilometres.
"Clearly the odometer had been rolled back and it needed a lot of work," said Whitby, Ont. man Dennis Esteves.
Esteves searched on Facebook Marketplace and saw an ad for 2010 Ford F-150 selling privately for $8,800, which had mileage listed as 184,000 kilometres.
He went to see the truck, felt it was in good shape for the price and bought it uncertified.
But when he took the truck to his mechanic after some diagnostic tests were done, he was told the truck didn't have 184,000 kilometers. It actually had 320,000 kilometres.

While Canada is well known for its accomplishments in space — including building the robotic arms used on the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station — the country still has no ability to launch its own satellites. This week, Ottawa committed nearly a quarter‑billion dollars towards changing that.

It’s an enduring stereotype that Canadians are unfailingly nice, quick to apologize even when they have done nothing wrong. But an online urban legend claims the opposite of Canada’s soldiers, painting a picture of troops so brazen in their brutality that international laws were rewritten to rein them in.
