
One more injured Ayyappa devotee succumbs to burn injuries in Hubballi, toll goes up to three

Barring 11-year-old Vinayak Barker, who has been shifted to the Burns Ward, the condition of the remaining five devotees continues to be critical, according to bulletin from KMC-RI.
One more person among the nine Ayyappa devotees, who were being treated at KMC-RI Hospital in Hubballi after being injured in a fire mishap, succumbed to the injuries on December 27, taking the death toll to three.
The name of the deceased is Raju Mugeri (16) of Sainagar, Hubballi. He was among nine Ayyappa devotees who had suffered injuries in a fire caused due to LPG leak in a temple in Hubballi on December 23.
On December 26, two persons had succumbed to their injuries. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had announced compensation of ₹5 lakh to the families of the deceased. Following the mishap, the government of Karnataka had called expert doctors from Bengaluru to assist the KMC-RI doctors in providing advanced treatment to the injured devotees.
