Doha, Qatar: Old Doha Port has officially launched ‘Minakom’, Qatar’s first digital yacht entry platform, marking a transformative milestone in the country’s maritime and tourism infrastructure. Developed in coordination with key government stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Interior, and the General Authority of Customs, the platform enables seamless online entry procedures for visiting vessels from customs clearance to immigration and port access without requiring passengers or crew to disembark.

During a press conference, Eng. Mohammed Abdulla Al Mulla, CEO of Old Doha Port, described Minakom as “one of our most significant service milestones to date.” “This is the first time such a contactless, vessel-side clearance process has been implemented in Qatar, and among the very few in the region,” he said.

Initially soft-launched during the FIFA World Cup Qatar in 2022, the platform was refined through extensive user feedback and collaborative workshops with national authorities. To date, more than 250 vessels have used Minakom, reflecting the country’s commitment to digital transformation and tourism development under the Qatar National Vision 2030.

“This is a deliberate move toward smarter, more efficient government services that support economic diversification and logistics innovation, and Qatar’s ambition to be a leader in intelligent infrastructure across all sectors,” Al Mulla said.

The port is also preparing for the return of the Qatar Boat Show from November 5 to 8, 2025. Following the success of its inaugural edition, which attracted over 23,500 visitors, this year’s show promises expanded event space, more exhibitors, and new experiences.
