Abu Dhabi: Chairman of the General Authority of Customs, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Jamal, led the delegation of the State of Qatar participating in the World Customs Organization (WCO) Technology Conference and Exhibition.
The event was held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, from January 28–30, 2026, under the slogan: “Customs Agility in a Complex World: Securing and Facilitating Trade through Innovation.”
The conference sessions featured extensive discussions on several key issues, foremost among them border security strategies to enhance international trade security and mechanisms for facilitating trade flows through modern digital channels.
Participants also reviewed the current challenges facing customs risk management and explored ways to employ artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies in connectivity and analysis operations, and their effective role in data processing to enhance the comprehensive customs security ecosystem.
As part of the Qatari customs delegation’s active participation, a representative from the Authority delivered a visual presentation highlighting Qatar’s experience in adopting advanced strategies to promote digital transformation and enhance inspection efficiency at customs ports.
